Being a 90’s baby, I have always had a special place in my heart for 90’s inspired outfits. I mean with the iconic Baby One More Time music video outfits and ultra chic Clueless looks, who wouldn’t right? That’s why when I saw H&M’s Back to School Collection , I just about died! 

In the spirit of this super nostalgic collection, here are 4 ways you can spice your wardrobe back into the 90:

1. School Girl Chic 

I don’t know what I loved about Baby One More Time more, the actual music or the tres chic 90s school girl outfits they all sported. There’s a reason why this trend has lived on well into these last 2 decades! Cue Gossip Girl, Clueless, and the list goes on. The trendy and affordable quality pieces at H&M are perfect to help you accomplish this look. Grab yourself a cute matching set paired with some cute platforms and a small backpack and you are good to go! 

2. Plaid everything 

Need I say more? When I see plaid (I’m talking chic, Clueless vibes and not countryside lumber jack), I automatically think 90s fashion! A great way to add a little 90s flare to your look is to spice up your look with some plaid trousers or a plaid skirt. Not ready to plunge that deep into 90s style? Spice up your look with a plaid backpack instead! 

3. Sporty   

I can’t name a single 90s movie that didn’t sport the sporty windbreaker, chunky sneaker,  and scrunchy look! If you want something more comfortable, this is definitely the way to go. Throw on a colorful windbreaker over some biker shorts and chunky sneakers and put your hair up in a high pony with a scrunchie and you are 90s era sporty chic! 

4. Jean everything 

This is my favorite go-to because it is a simple, easy way to add a little throwback to your look. A jean jacket over your look is a very subtle addition, but if you want something a little more daring opt for a denim on denim look or a denim overall dress and some platform shoes!
