New York Fashion Week 2017

“Dreams don’t work unless you do ”

New York Fashion Week has come and gone, but I am honestly still in disbelief that I got to attend NYFW this year. Being in the city for one of the busiest times of the year for this specific purpose may not be a big deal to some people, but it is such a big and meaningful accomplishment to me.

For as long as I could remember (read: since the day I could download the Fashion Week live app via my iPad), I have dreamt of one day making it to New York City and actually seeing the shows on the runway live and in person. Mind you, I was probably still in high school at the time so it was truly just a pipe dream back then. Year after year when February and September rolled around, I would watch the shows on my iPad through the live stream the app provided. Year after year, I found myself wishing, hoping and dreaming that I would one day get invited to these shows that I watched so religiously on my iPad screen.

When I first started Vogue in Vegas, my number one bucket list goal was to get invited to Fashion Week. Not just any Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week. It was a long shot and a pipe dream  at the time and I honestly never thought I'd ever get to that point (at least for a long while), let alone even knew remotely how I'd manage to ever get noticed and score an invite to these coveted shows. But if your dreams don't scare you they're not big enough right?

Attending NYFW was such an amazing experience and has definitely inspired me to really step out of my comfort zone this season when it comes to fashion. Not only that, but seeing all the hustle, the drive and the motivation of other bloggers attending NYFW has motivated me to keep on striving to be better everyday and to never stop hustling for the things that I am passionate about. Every person that I meant was so goal driven. It was so refreshing and motivating to meet people who work so hard to chase their passions, and I cannot wait to be back next season. Lastly, thank you so so much again for all your support through the years. I am beyond grateful, and I truly would not be here today without it.
